Twelve jobseekers were HOTS (Hired On the Spot) on Valentine’s Day as they were hit by the lucky arrow and found jobs during the FEBTASTIC Job Fair on February 14, 2023 held at Lagon Gym, Poblacion Ilawod, Dao, Capiz.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-6 through its Capiz Field Office and the Provincial Government of Capiz, in collaboration with the Municipality of Dao, conducted the job fair to provide employment opportunities to jobseekers in remote areas.
DOLE-6 Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. lauded the local government units and their Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) for the job fair, considering that Dao town is one of the distant municipalities of the province.
“This is a gift of love,” Rodriguez said, “alam naman natin na mahirap pumunta sa lungsod upang maghanap ng trabaho at ang Job Fair na ito ay nagpapahiwatig ng ating pag-mamahal para sa mga manggagawa at mga naghahanap ng trabaho.”
He also recognized Capiz PESO Manager John Beldia and Dao PESO Manager Elena Bunda for their efforts in facilitating the job fair which benefitted the jobseekers of in area and its nearby municipalities.
The applicants extended their heartfelt gratitude to DOLE and their partners for conducting the event. Eighty-six (86) jobseekers tried their luck and apart from the HOTS, others were near hires while some were given referrals for livelihood training.
DOLE Capiz Provincial Office Head Joselito G. Dela Banda thanked Capiz Gov. Fredenil Castro and Mayor Jose Barruella for bringing job opportunities closer to the applicants in Municipality of Dao.
